A young kicker from Northern United RFC in Porirua just landed himself a spot on the Rugby Bricks ambassador team.

Nixon's been kicking off the same Blue Mid Cut tee for three years. Earlier this month he decided he wanted to become a Rugby Bricks ambassador, and instead of sending through a message, he posted a video. "Day 1 of asking Rugby Bricks to make me an ambassador." Then he posted another the next day. And the next.

By day 2, Lima Sopoaga, Tyla WongLouis Davis and Uncletics had all left comments on his page. Word travels fast when a kid is putting in real work on camera.

Over the following days, the kicks kept landing, the following kept growing, and mates started tagging mates. By day 10, the series had pulled 238k views.

At that point, we couldn’t ignore him and his efforts to keep improving each and every single day.

A few days later Nixon turned up with a brand new Hot PInk RB Vortex High Cut he'd bought with his own money. Hot pink. Nobody asked him to buy it. He just wanted one, so he went and earned it.

Well done, Nixon.

If there's a lesson in it, it's a simple one. Show up, put the work on camera, and let people see it for themselves. Nixon didn't need a big following or a perfect kick to start. He just needed 10 days and a willingness to keep going.

If you're out there grinding away with a tee and a goal, we're watching too 👀👀
