Leyla Alev Kelter is an American rugby sevens player. She won a silver medal at the 2015 Pan American Games as a member of the United States women's national rugby sevens team. She also made the squad to the 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil and made the Eagles squad for Women’s Rugby World Cup in Ireland in 2017.

In this episode we tackle:

  • Alev’s family and the influence that her mother played in creating scales and how Alev measures herself on the scales of 10.
  • How she implements self-care and has navigated her own self-sabotage.
  • How Alev discovered her purpose inside and outside of rugby.
  • Alev’s skill acquisition and development transfer from ice hockey and soccer to becoming a rugby Olympian.

This was a very deep podcast and Alev really brought the tools and tactics to the table on how she has dealt with her own high performance and the ups and downs that come with these moments.

If you’re an aspiring athlete this is probably the most resource dense episode we’ve had on dealing with the emotional rollercoaster that comes with playing at the top levels. Take notes and most of all enjoy it.
