Connor Robinson walked into Sunday’s Championship play-off against Barrow Raiders with 40 consecutive successful goal kicks behind him.
The world record was 41.
It took him 18 minutes to get an oppourtunity to match the record.
Doncaster opened the scoring through Cory Aston, leaving Robinson with his first kick of the afternoon.
Through the posts, 41 straight made goal kicks.
A few minutes later Watson Boas broke through the middle and scored beside the posts. Robinson placed the ball on the tee again.
A new world record.
And his afternoon was only getting started in what can only be described as a clinic.
12 tries & 12 conversions.
Doncaster were ruthlessly dominant throughout the game.
They ran in 12 tries on their way to a 72–0 win, booking their place in the next round of the Championship play-offs.
Every try brought Robinson back to the tee.
43 became 44.
Then 45.
The score kept climbing and so did the record.
By the final minute, Robinson had converted 11 tries and stretched his run to 51 consecutive successful kicks.
Then he got one more chance.
This time, he created it himself.
Robinson crossed for Doncaster’s final try of the afternoon, picked himself up and walked back to take the conversion.
One last strike.
Straight through.
